Steve Bland says the key to talking to children about cancer is being 鈥渁s honest as possible.鈥�

The podcaster and husband of the 5 Live presenter Rachael Bland, who died of breast cancer in 2018, said being open with their son Freddie meant he didn鈥檛 get any false impressions.

"I can remember taking Freddie into our bedroom after Rachael died and just explaining to him what had happened in as simple language as possible" he told 5 Live Breakfast.

Steve empathised with the Princess of Wales and her family, noting that her children are at the age where they'll have a lot of questions.

"Whether you're a king, or a princess, whoever you are, the emotions are the same."
