17 Essex women have stripped in a protest over plans to close Saint Peter’s Hospital in Maldon. Save Maldon's Medical Services published a video with just a placard covering their bodies, reading "How dare you strip us bare of medical services, we need our St Peter's to remain open forever."
Several members of the group have been explaining why they felt they had to make a stand.
In a statement, Dr Matthew Sweeting, Medical Director at Mid and South Essex Integrated Care Board, who are leading on the consultation around changes to community beds and outpatient services said: “No final decisions have been made and we continue to remain open for consultation until 4 April. We are committed to working with local people to develop our plans and make sure key services remain local where possible".
