The Times’ senior travel content writer says she is baffled as to why more people don’t consider Essex as a holiday destination.

Cathy Adams, who is originally from Saffron Walden, wrote a piece comparing parts of Southend to Miami.

She believes the county ‘under promises and over delivers’ when it comes to places to visit.
