Ancient frescos uncovered in Pompeii
If you thought that the ancient Roman city of Pompeii - buried in an eruption from Mount Vesuvius nearly two thousand years ago - had thrown up all its secrets, then think again.聽Because a new excavation has revealed what's being described as some of the finest artworks ever found in the ruins: floor to ceiling frescos and stunning mosaic floors in a sumptuous villa.聽
Archaeologists believe it was home to a rich, influential man, possibly a politician, who was also the owner of a bakery next door where slaves were held.聽 The 麻豆社's Science Editor Rebecca Morelle reports from Pompeii.
