Stopped for travelling with Sikh ceremonial blade
Karen Kaur says her family experienced prejudice when returning to the UK on the Eurostar. The Bedfordshire family had packed their Kirpans 鈥 religious miniature swords worn by Sikhs 鈥 in their suitcases, but were told to take them out while going through security. They were eventually allowed to travel and upgraded to first class. Eurostar have since said, 鈥渘on-retractable blades are not allowed to be carried by customers. This does include Kirpans.鈥 Photo: Karen Kaur.
