It'll hold the title for two years after receiving the award at the England Curry Capital Awards at the King Richard III Visitor Centre.
More than 11,000 votes were cast in the search for the country's best place to grab a curry, with 90 per cent of them backing our city. The competition returned this year after an eight-year absence.
