Sloane Stephens: You shouldn鈥檛 have to choose between career success and being a mom

Sloane Stephens speaks about her decision to freeze her eggs.

She鈥檚 a former world number three tennis player and won the US Open in 2017.

She has called for female players to get protected rankings if they chose to take time off for fertility treatment or egg-freezing.

Speaking to 5 Live鈥檚 Naga Munchetty, she said: 鈥淸Freezing eggs] is a very involved process, I don鈥檛 think people understand that.鈥�

鈥淚t is difficult but if you want to have a family, if you want to continue to be successful in the career you love but also be a mom one day鈥ou shouldn鈥檛 have to fight one for the other.鈥�
