A stone鈥檚 throw away from the River Thames, and hidden just behind Tate Modern, are Hopton鈥檚 Almshouses. They鈥檝e been offering affordable housing to the poor and needy since 1752. In the summer of 2023, filmmaker Harvey Marcus was granted rare access to film inside the complex of twenty cottages and document the lives of its elderly community. What transpired is Waterloo Sunset - a documentary about the last pre-World War Two generation, now facing a daily battle with a world they often no longer recognise.

麻豆社 Radio London's Robert Elms has been finding out about the film, and speaking to Seamus, the youngest resident of the Almshouses.
