‘I’d say all of us have a bit of a tummy!’
For Woman’s Hour’s Listener Week, listener Carole asked us to look at our relationship with tummies – and why we don’t celebrate them more.
So to discuss this, Nuala McGovern was joined by Lottie Drynan who created the IBS blog [Irritable Bowel Syndrome], The Tummy Diaries, and the hashtag #mybloatedwardrobe.
Lottie told Nuala how she’s learned to love her rounded stomach and the pressures that society can place on this part of our bodies.
Lottie joined Nuala alongside my two other guests: Dr Charlotte Boyce, Associate Professor in Victorian Literature and Culture at Portsmouth University, and columnist Pravina Rudra, who discussed the historical and cultural differences when it comes to our midriffs.
You can listen to the full discussion on Â鶹Éç Sounds - it’s the Woman’s Hour episode from 20 August.
