Colchester library has closed its doors until summer 2025 because of an extensive refurbishment, which includes a brand-new Children’s Imagination and Literacy Centre. As a result of the temporary closure, other libraries in north Essex will open for longer.

Craig Fitt-Cook is the Library Services Area Manager at Colchester Library, and has been explaining the reasons behind the decision in more detail.
