Telford's Labour MP Shaun Davies has conceded that the town's A&E will be downgraded. In May the then Conservative government gave the go ahead for emergency care to move to Shrewsbury and elective care to Telford. It means the current A&E will be downgraded to a 24/7 urgent treatment centre.
