The oldest shoe shop in Hanley, Brassington Bros Est. 1901, is set to close its doors so owner Peter Brassington can focus on the Longton store instead. He says that 'trade has not been very good for some time' and 'it's a pull on the heartstrings, except if you want to survive you've got to do what you think is best'.
