In terms of sexual maturity, girls and boys develop at different rates during their teens. But it’s a common misconception that once we look mature, that means we’re fertile. Biological anthropologist Barry Bogin explains that boys can be fertile well before they look mature, while girls’ fertility kicks in years after we might think.
