"Devastating tax": plans to charge for parking
Wirral Council is looking to start charging for parking at 22 free car parks including Kings Parade and Coastal Drive in New Brighton
Plans also include charging at on street bay parking in New Brighton, West Kirby, Hoylake and Meols.
The council says charging would allow them to meet the costs of continuing to provide dedicated public car parking into the future.
