Fire Service rescues 56 people from floods
Fire and rescue crews in Leicestershire are busy dealing with the fallout from "intense heavy rain" that's left high numbers of roads flooded.
During the course of Monday morning, Fire crews rescued around 56 people from various houses and business premises and declared a major incident.
The fire service said it had received more than 200 calls, with crews attending incidents involving cars stuck in flood water, evacuating residents from flooded homes and rising water.
Judi Beresford, the Assistant Chief Fire Officer for Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service, spoke to 麻豆社 Leicester's Ben Jackson.
