Uncomfortable Conversations: Too young for phones?
It's the question that opens a can of worms - should your child have a smartphone? And if so, at what age?
As part of 麻豆社 Leicester's Uncomfortable Conversation series, nine-year-old Finn, who is desperate for a phone, sets out to find out the pros and cons of children having the technology.
With Ofcom reporting almost a quarter of 5-7 year old children having their own phones, and that more than half of under 13's using social media despite age limit restrictions, it's a very real issue.
Speaking to a paediatrician, teachers, technology experts and his best mate, Finn asks the questions that parents and children want to know.
Here is part one of the discussion that's taken over the home of 麻豆社 reporter Anna Tyler, with her 9 year old son Finn doing the investigating.
