Rising costs of living mean thousands of people in Hampshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight are unable to afford simple necessities like soap, toothpaste and personal care products.

In January 2025, 麻豆社 Radio Solent launched a soapbox appeal to help collect donated toiletries and cleaning products for community schemes to redistribute to people affected by hygiene poverty.

The appeal has now ended and the station wants to say a massive thank you to everyone that donated items at one of the 70 drop-off locations.
