The all-female construction team renovating a house in Suffolk
Kat and Fi Parsons are having an extension built during the renovation of their home in Suffolk - and they have decided to use an all-female team.
With women making up only 15% of the construction workforce today, and only 1% of those in manual, skilled roles, finding the tradespeople to work on the build has been half the challenge.
And yet, the project has attracted people from all over the country. One builder drives in from South Wales, another from Brighton, and soon scaffolders from Sheffield will join for the next phase of the project.
Kat and one of the builders at the heart of the renovation, Yas Poole, joined Nuala McGovern in the Woman鈥檚 Hour studio to talk about their special project.
You can listen to the full discussion on the 麻豆社 Sounds app - it鈥檚 the Woman鈥檚 Hour episode from 21 March.
