Why are warnings appearing on Hereford graves?
Warning stickers have appeared on dozens of headstones, labelling them 'unsafe' and prompting families to foot the bill for repairs, even when families say the memorials appear sturdy.
Sophie Millward reports from Hereford Crematorium, with Adrian Herbert, who is one of the relatives affected.
In a statement, Herefordshire Council says memorial inspections are carried out every five years or sooner if needed. It says the tests are a national requirement following incidents where memorials have fallen and caused serious injury, and it鈥檚 now writing to lease holders after a recent round of checks. It says placing warning signs was by far the most reasonable and sympathetic.
