Colossal squid discovered by Essex scientists
A colossal squid has been filmed in its natural environment for the first time since the species was discovered 100 years ago.
The 30cm-long mollusc was recorded during an expedition led by a University of Essex academic, in a remote and largely unexplored part of the south Atlantic Ocean, at a depth of almost two-thousand feet.
