Do you know about the secret garden in Birkenhead?
Established in 1925, the Callister Gardens were set up originally as a space for young women and girls to enjoy sports and leisure activities. There was also a playing field and, later on, a garden to teach apprentices.
The apprenticeship scheme came to an end, and the space was boarded up and left to its own devices for over 10 years until the charity was given into the care of new trustees in 2018.
This year they celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of Callister Gardens in Birkenhead.
