Charnwood woman to light VE Day anniversary beacon
A woman who came to Leicestershire at the age of 5 to escape the bombing of World War II has been chosen to light Loughborough's beacon marking the 80th anniversary of VE day.
Sheila Breed was sent here with her siblings to escape the bombing in Sheffield. She never went home and later met her husband Terry, raising four children and sharing 71 years together living in Charnwood.
Sheila told 麻豆社 Leicester's Ady Dayman how she can still remember the day she arrived in Leicestershire with her big sister.
