Shrewsbury's Labour MP Julia Buckley says she's keen for a new direct train service connecting Shropshire to London. The last service ended a year ago, but now the "Wrexham, Shropshire and Midlands Railway" wants to bring back a direct connection with the capital. However, Network Rail who owns the tracks are objecting to it for a number of reasons including congestion on the lines.
