Stansted Airport has submitted an expansion plan that if approved, could see an increase of up to 51 million passengers a year and 4,500 new jobs. This would make the Essex terminal the UK's second busiest, but there was no plan to build a second runway or exceed its limit of 274,000 annual flights.
