In the lead up to the Women鈥檚 Euros 2025, Lionesses Lauren James and Lucy Bronze opened up to 5 Live Breakfast about the abuse they receive on social media as footballers.

鈥淭he abuse never really stops,鈥� says Lauren. 鈥淚鈥檓 used to it now so I kind of just brush it off my shoulder.鈥�

Lucy Bronze says that while the abuse isn鈥檛 nice, 鈥渟haring the experience with other people helps them through those moments鈥�.

鈥淚t鈥檚 a difficult situation to naivgate through because social media is amazing in one way and absolutely awful in another way,鈥漵he adds.
