After more than 30 years of playing Robin Hood, Tim Pollard, Nottingham's official Robin Hood has died following a, "short, brave battle with cancer", according to a post on his Facebook page.

Nottingham City Council, which employed the 61-year-old to appear at events, said it was devastated by his death.

In 2023, he spoke to Mark Dennison about what his role meant to him.
