Schoolyard 'spacecraft' crash lands in Newark
Staff and pupils from Gobowen Primary School in Shropshire launched a weather balloon as part of a 2-year long science project.
The balloon was accompanied by a Lego man called Dan, and the school anticipated the balloon would land somewhere in Derbyshire. Dan, though, decided to go sightseeing off the expected path.
The school lost contact with the balloon the same day it launched. When it came back online, it turned out Dan had landed right here in Nottinghamshire.
The extraordinary video shows Dan rising much higher than expected, going all the way up into space, before his balloon popped, sending him plummeting back down to Earth, towards Newark.
