The Pretenders' drummer: 'My Live Aid memories'
Hard-hitting drummer Martin Chambers, who still lives in Herefordshire, reflects on playing the world's biggest gig, in Philadelphia in 1985. Although he says he wished they could have played Wembley!
Martin tells Tammy Gooding how the band was involved from the start by Bob Geldof, and had an eventful time in rehearsals nailing the timings for their five-song set. He also describes the gathering of Hollywood superstars, having got in to a lift with actor Sean Penn, and then up-and-coming pop act, Madonna.
