RHS Wentworth visitors hit by gridlock
RHS Wentworth sees visitors stuck in traffic on opening day.
In a statement, the RHS say:
"We experienced some delays due to a much higher volume than anticipated of vehicles approaching from the north via M1 Southbound, and much lower volume from the South. In order to alleviate this, our traffic teams (with the support of Highways England) will be using the M1 matrix signs and locally placed electronic signs to help spread the flow of聽traffic arriving at the event more evenly across the road network.聽
A park and ride system is operating from Meadowhall Shopping Centre. This service is free of charge, but must be booked in advance via the聽online ticket booking system."
