Weymouth is left raftless for the Summer holidays
Jade O'Brien who lives in Weymouth cannot understand why two pontoons have been removed from the beach after resident and visiting swimmers have used them for eight decades. With that in mind she set up a petition which has over 1500 signatures to restore the beloved swim rafts to their usual place at Greenhill beach, Weymouth. In response to the petition the town council put out a statement that said; "the pontoons being outside of the lifeguards primary response area is the reason from them not being replaced".
A statement from The RNLI said; "The Council owns and manages their swim rafts, they have always been located outside of the RNLI lifeguard's primary response area."
