Tip Tray Theatre brings the critically acclaimed, award-winning play I Am Steven Gerrard to the iconic Epstein Theatre this September.
Written by Sean McLoughlin and directed by Amy Roberts, winner of What Happens Next 2023, this raw and honest one-man show follows Shane 鈥 a young man with a dream not just to play football, but to become Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard. But as his obsession grows, it鈥檚 clear his longing isn鈥檛 about football at all.

This gripping story dives deep into love, loss, loneliness, and the pressure of modern masculinity, all told through the lens of identity, dreams, and even reality TV. Featuring a powerful solo performance by Joe Cowin, I Am Steven Gerrard asks: what does it mean to be a 鈥渞eal man鈥 in 2025?
After sell-out runs at Hope Street Theatre and the Royal Court, don鈥檛 miss its unmissable return to Liverpool 鈥 Thursday 11th to Saturday 13th September at The Epstein Theatre.
