Man 'humiliated' after assistance dog incident
Jericho Keys hears from Rob and Emma Gray about their troubling experience at a Wetherspoons pub in Northallerton.
Rob Gray says he felt "humiliated" after being asked to leave the pub because of his assistance dog, despite the dog wearing a clearly marked vest identifying her as an assistance animal. The issue arose because the dog was not trained by an organisation accredited by Assistance Dogs UK (ADUK). Weatherspoons says it has a "long-standing no-dogs policy in its pubs" and that only guide dogs or assistance dogs with training by ADUK-accredited organisations are permitted.
