The residents of Sheffield 3 in Shalesmoor, including students and short-term tenants, say summer heat and lack of ventilation have made living conditions 'unbearable'. Simon Thake spoke to residents.
Councillor Douglas Johnson, Chair of the Housing Policy Committee at Sheffield City Council, said the Private Housing Standards team IS actively investigating the issue and has encouraged others to get in touch
In a statement Student Roost said they were "awaiting the full report" from Sheffield City Council and "will take immediate action if required"
They go on to say " Sheffield 3 complies with national safety requirements. All windows are fitted with restrictors in line with Health & Safety law and Building Regulations to prevent falls from height, while still allowing adequate airflow"
