From September, under-threes will be eligible for up to 30 hours of funding from the government, providing they are in work. Free childcare has been approximately 15 hours since last April.

According to the Department for Education, the expansion could save families up to 拢7,500 a year.

The team behind Deerhurst Day Nursery in Kidderminster, and the families using the centre, say the funding has proved popular so far.

Families must apply by the end of August 2025 to be eligible for the next academic year.
