The disaster that changed aviation forever
Relatives and survivors will be marking 40 years since the Manchester Air Disaster.
55 people died in the tragedy, when a plane caught fire on the runway in August 1985. Most died of smoke inhalation.
The disaster led to significant safety improvements to aviation.
