Therapy dog helping school children in Portsmouth
Basil is a therapy dog that works with students at the Wymering School in Portsmouth. Basil helps the students to regulate and understand their emotions. He is a finalist in the Animal category in 麻豆社 Radio Solent's Make a Difference Awards for 2025.
麻豆社 Radio Solent's Sam Fraser has been to meet Basil and his owner, Sally Rogers.
The Animal Award: awarded to either a remarkable animal that improves people鈥檚 lives, or an individual or group of people who improve the welfare of animals.

Nominations for the 2025 awards have now closed and finalists have been selected by a panel of judges.
The winners will be announced at our 麻豆社 Radio Solent Make a Difference Awards ceremony in September.
