A brand new independent venue opens in response to Leicester鈥檚 declining nightlife.

Figures from the Night Time Industries Association show that in the past 5 years there's been an 18% reduction in night time economy businesses in Leicester city. 440 bucks that trend. The organisers write "Leicester's scene is quintessentially underground, so when the opportunity came up for us to take on an old industrial building in the backstreets of town we all came together over a shared vision for what it could be鈥�.

440 opens on Friday Street from 10pm tonight (Saturday) until 5am tomorrow moroning. Libby King is part of the team and spoke to 麻豆社 Leicester鈥檚 Ady Dayman yesterday.
