You might have seen the harrowing story of Maya Chappell.

She was just two and a half years old when she was murdered by her Mother's boyfriend in Shotton Colliery.

Maya suffered severe brain damage when she was violently shaken by Michael Daymond after he learnt his Universal Credit had been stopped while he was being threatened over drug debts.

Michael Daymond was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum of 20 years for her murder.

Dana Carr, Maya's mother, was convicted of child cruelty and jailed for nine years.

Now, Maya's great aunt Gemma Chappel is calling for urgent law reform under the name Maya's Law, to stop what happened to Maya, happening to any other child.
