When it started, Hull Fair was very different
From the dodgems to the brandy snaps, waltzers and palm reading, one of the biggest and oldest travelling fairs in Europe starts this week in Hull. But when it started eight centuries ago, the fair was very different. Martin Taylor, the City Archivist from the Hull History Centre tells us about how the fair began life.
