The Old Rock pub in Stapleford closed in 2022. Since then, its paint has peeled, its windows have been boarded up, and rubbish has built up on the site.

Now, Broxtowe Borough Council has launched legal action against the owners of the site, after they failed to adhere to a Community Protection Notice, requiring the site to be made safe and tidy.

Councillor Richard MacRae, an independent representing Stapleford North on Broxtowe Borough Council, spoke to Summaya about his dismay at the state of the once-bustling pub.
