‘I struggled to get my shoes on and get dressed’
Victoria Roberton suffered debilitating Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGP) during her first pregnancy, which is still impacting her life now.
PGP is a condition that causes pain in the pelvic joints. The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists says PGP affects around one in five women during pregnancy.
The first-time mum carried on and ‘ignored’ the pain as advised by her midwife and it got ‘progressively worse’.
The pain meant she struggled to do everyday tasks like putting on her shoes and getting dressed.
Earlier this year she became the coordinator for the charity Pelvic Partnership, which supports women going through exactly what she did.
