A new bridge over the M6 will see motorway and railway closures in the New Year. No trains will run on the West Coast Main Line between 31 December and 15 January 2026 and the motorway will be closed on consecutive weekends. Diversions and bus replacement services will be in place. This is part of a 拢124 million Network Rail upgrade in Cumbria to make it safer and more reliable.
