Famous poet in Weymouth teaching black history
John Agard is an internationally acclaimed poet and advocate for teaching black history in schools.
Ahead of attending the Dorchester Literary Festival where he will be performing his poetry, he is meeting pupils at The Wey Valley Academy in Weymouth.
Pupils Natasha (16) and Ava (13) were there to welcome him and John explains what he could bring to students in terms of his poetry and Black History Awareness Month.
