The lost Alston Moor WWI poet
Nowell Oxland was 24, when he died in 1915 days before his Cumbrian poem was published in The Times. Now his poems have been saved from oblivion, and are being celebrated in a new book called 'Chasing the Phantom', by Cockermouth author Zoe Gilbert, and military historian Stephen Cooper.
