When the autumn budget is announced, authorities will be 鈥榦n the watch鈥� for scammers following, Diane Doudnath, from UK Finance tells Shari Vahl.

Speaking on Scam Secrets, Diane says 鈥淸Scammers] will talk about it in forums. They try to use whatever will be high profile and seem legitimate and timely so that the victims receive the message won鈥檛 be on a heightened state of alert鈥�.

When asked how big of an issue this is for the banks, Diane says it鈥檚 a topic of interest the industry is discussing鈥� 鈥渁fter the [Winter Fuel Allowance] announcement went out, there were over a thousand fake websites set up to impersonate the government鈥�.
