When pests evolve

Research from Harper Adams University near Newport has found that aphids may be adapting to evade pest control methods. Using other insects like parasitic wasps has proven a success in recent years for farmers and gardeners to do away with pests like greenflies. But new research from Harper Adams suggests the aphids may well be evolving resistance to this approach. "It happens in nature" Entomologist Professor Tim Pope explained,"first one side evolves resistance, but then the other evolves to overcome it."
