SEN pupils stage takeover of Bridport Museum
On Friday the 21st of November 2025, Bridport Museum was the place to be.
That's because children from a local special educational needs school in Beaminster had launched a takeover. As well as showing visitors around, the pupils of Mountjoy tried their hand at writing descriptions for the exhibits. Some factual, others fictitious.
The experience was facilitated by literacy charity, The Bank of Dreams and Nightmares, who encourage children in creative writing and give them opportunities for their work to be showcased and valued.
Harry Kille-Smith reports.
