The sycamore sapling bringing hope to Staffordshire
In September 2023, two men illegally chopped down the Sycamore Gap Tree which stood by Hadrian's Wall in Northumberland for over 120 years.
On Saturday, one of 49 saplings recovered from the tree was planted at the site of the Minnie Pit mining disaster in Halmer End, Newcastle-under-Lyme.
