Good morning. As we all know, the weather this year has been very wet, and consequently, our roads are in a terrible state.
Cormac Solutions said that it had received about 11,000 reports of road damage since the beginning of the year.
Network manager, Steve Bayley, said that there were about 50 teams working on the roads, and between them they were filling about 350 holes every day.
Unfortunately, it isn鈥檛 easy to mend holes in wet weather, and usually, the repairs do not last long. But for the most part, the workers have no other choice.
Mr Bayley added that he had been dealing with roads for more than 30 years, but he had never seen them in a worse state.

Cornwall Council has decided to end its subsidy for flights between Newquay Airport and London.
Until now, the cost of supporting the flights had been shared between the council and the government, but the government has reduced its annual contribution by about 拢3.5 million. So, it would have been necessary for the council to provide this additional sum from its own budget.
Skybus said that it offered to continue providing a service to London but, according to the council, its offer didn鈥檛 meet the legal terms of the contract.
Consequently, Skybus has decided to end its service by the end of May. All bookings after that date will be cancelled, and all payments refunded.
The council now intends to seek an alternative commercial service, perhaps making use of London City Airport.

A new local bus service has been launched between St Dominic, in the Tamar Valley, and Saltash.
In the past, St Dominic was more than two miles from the nearest bus service, but now there will be a bus from the village every Thursday morning, at a cost of 拢4 for a return ticket.
The new service will be provided by the community company Saltash Red Bus.
When the company began, it only had one bus, but it was a great success, and now they have 16 buses of various sizes.
The new service is really important for inhabitants of the village who are unable to drive any more, offering them the opportunity to socialise, and restoring some independence to them.
