Making beautiful jewellery in conflict zones

A London jeweller is working with women from conflict zones to create pieces with ethical supply chains.

The supply chains of gold and precious gems are notoriously difficult to track. They're often opaque and murky, historically hiding human rights abuses and environmental devastation.

Many are trying to bring change. Pippa Small is a jeweller bringing women together from regions scarred by conflict and repression to create jewellery to more ethical standards. Global journalist Mimi Swaby has been to meet her at her shop in London.
